Terms & Conditions — DOMA Chalet
These Terms & Conditions govern every booking made with DOMA Chalet ("DOMA", "we", "us"). They apply alongside the specific information provided for each residence and the booking confirmation issued to the guest ("you"). By confirming a booking, you accept these terms in full.
Last updated: 2026-06-30 · v1.0
1. Booking process
Reservations are made through the DOMA Chalet website or directly with our concierge team. Residences are offered either as instant bookings or as request-to-book, where availability is confirmed by our team within four hours.
A booking is firm only once you have received a written confirmation bearing a DOMA reference number and, where applicable, the deposit has been successfully captured. Until then, the dates remain provisionally held without commitment from either party.
2. Payment terms
Two payment options are available for instant bookings: a 30% deposit at confirmation with the remaining 70% balance, or a single payment in full at the time of booking.
When the deposit option is selected, you expressly authorise DOMA Chalet, through our payment provider Stripe, to securely store the card used at confirmation and to charge the remaining balance automatically 45 days before the arrival date. A reminder email is sent 5 days and again 2 days before the automatic charge.
If a balance charge fails (insufficient funds, expired card, strong-customer-authentication required), we will contact you immediately with a secure recovery link and retry once after 48 hours. Failure to settle the balance within 7 days of the due date entitles DOMA to treat the booking as cancelled at the guest's initiative, with no refund of the deposit already paid.
All amounts are quoted in euros (EUR) and include applicable French taxes. Local tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is collected on site by the property unless stated otherwise.
3. Cancellation policy — non-refundable
All bookings made with DOMA Chalet are final and strictly non-refundable. Once a booking is confirmed, neither the deposit, the balance, nor the full payment can be refunded — in whole or in part — in case of cancellation, no-show, late arrival, early departure, or shortened stay, regardless of the reason invoked by the guest.
This policy also applies if a guest cancels because of personal circumstances, professional constraints, travel disruption (flight delays, transport strikes, road or weather conditions), illness, quarantine, or any reason not attributable to DOMA. We strongly recommend contracting a travel insurance covering cancellation and interruption of stay.
If DOMA is unable to deliver the booked residence for reasons within our control, we will, at our sole discretion, offer either a comparable alternative residence or a full refund of all sums paid, to the exclusion of any further compensation.
4. Security deposit
A pre-authorisation or refundable security deposit may be required for each residence, in an amount specified in the booking confirmation and typically ranging from €5,000 to €20,000 depending on the property.
The pre-authorisation is taken on the lead guest's card 7 days before arrival and released within 14 days of departure, subject to inventory check, absence of damage, and full settlement of any extra services consumed on site.
Should the actual cost of repair, replacement, or extra services exceed the deposit amount, the lead guest remains liable for the balance and authorises DOMA to charge the additional sums to the card on file.
5. Check-in & check-out
Standard check-in is from 4:00 pm on the arrival day; check-out is by 10:00 am on the departure day. Earlier arrival or later departure may be requested in advance and is offered subject to availability.
An identity document is required for the lead guest at check-in. Our concierge will conduct a brief property walk-through and inventory review. The number of occupants must not exceed the published capacity of the residence at any time.
6. Guest responsibilities
You agree to occupy the residence as a careful and reasonable guest ("bon père de famille"), to respect the property, its contents and its neighbours, and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the resort and of France.
Any damage caused to the residence or its contents during the stay must be reported promptly to our concierge. You are responsible for the conduct of every person you bring on site, including children and any service providers you engage directly.
7. Property rules
Unless expressly authorised in writing by DOMA, the following are not permitted inside our residences: smoking and vaping, pets, commercial photography or filming, events open to non-resident guests, and any use of the property other than private leisure accommodation.
Sub-letting and the assignment of the booking to a third party are strictly forbidden. Quiet hours apply between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am out of respect for our neighbours.
8. Force majeure
Neither party shall be held liable for failure to perform its obligations due to an event of force majeure, as defined under article 1218 of the French Civil Code. This includes, without limitation, exceptional weather events preventing access, natural disasters, fire, government decisions, public-health restrictions, terrorism, war, and prolonged failure of essential public services.
Where a confirmed booking cannot be performed because of force majeure, DOMA will offer, at its discretion, a postponement to equivalent dates within the following 18 months or a credit note of the same amount valid for 24 months. No monetary refund will be due.
9. Liability
DOMA Chalet acts as the operator of the residences entrusted to it by their owners. Our liability is limited to the direct, foreseeable and proven damage caused by our own fault, and is in any event capped at the total amount paid for the booking concerned.
DOMA cannot be held liable for personal belongings, valuables, ski equipment, vehicles or any item brought into the residence by the guest, nor for activities pursued by the guest outside the residence, including ski, mountain and concierge-arranged third-party services.
10. Privacy & GDPR
Personal data collected as part of a booking is processed by DOMA Chalet SAS as data controller, for the purpose of managing the reservation, complying with our legal obligations, and — with your explicit consent — for sending you our private newsletter.
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify, port, restrict, object to and erase your personal data. To exercise these rights, please write to hello@domachalet.com. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law & disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by French law. Any dispute arising from a booking shall first be addressed amicably with our team. Failing an amicable settlement within 60 days, the dispute shall be brought before the competent courts of Chambéry, France, save where consumer-protection rules grant the guest a more favourable jurisdiction.
