Group size, bathrooms and village character decide the valley more than the ski map does.
Both valleys sit on the same lift network, so the honest question is not which skiing is better but which address suits the group you are travelling with. Our portfolio answers that question quite plainly: the chalets are in the Méribel valley, the apartments are in Courchevel Le Praz.
For a group of eight to twelve, Méribel is the practical answer. Chalet M, in Les Allues, sleeps twelve across five bedrooms and five bathrooms; Chalet L'Arbalète sleeps ten across five bedrooms and five bathrooms; Chalet Cherferie sleeps eight across four bedrooms and four bathrooms. What decides the week for two or three families travelling together is rarely the headline capacity — it is the ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms and whether rooms can be set as doubles or twins. Méribel is a valley of distinct hamlets rather than a single centre, and the free Méribus shuttles link them according to the official seasonal timetable.
For a couple, a small family or four to six people who want a village rather than a resort, Courchevel Le Praz is the better fit. Le Pralin sleeps six across three bedrooms, Le Oura and Le Peclet sleep four across two bedrooms each; the village is served by its own gondola and by the resort shuttles, which makes a stay without a car straightforward.
